Loving hexagon patchwork at the moment, so much so that I'm working on a few cushions and maybe a few other homely things...
I love the history behind it too, the 'mend and make-do' attitude. My dad has been a beekeeper for as long as I can remember, so the honeycomb shape is close to my heart for that reason too.

I left an rsvp comment back at my space for you, and I also want to tell you that fathers are inspiring indeed... yours sound utterly cool... my own pa was a silversmith, and my in-laws are bee keepers to boot too! Gosh I wish you were my farm neighbor, I'd have you over for tea every day... :)
btw: I've been eyeing all your birds in the shop and I WANT them all, I've got to wait until the accounts are up to par to make sure I can make a purchase next month... I would like to put them in my daughters room... her middle name is Sparrow and so I'd like to follow the bird theme...
Love and light,
M
Hahaha, my dad would love that comment! me, it just makes me laugh!
You're right about fathers being inspiring... mine is a retired fireplace maker with a passion for wood and furniture making (where I get my love of wood from). Much to learn from them, as long as the rebellious side can be left aside ;)
I would love to come by for tea and a chat...
We could have a 'neighbourly' swamp though. I have my eye on your fingerless gloves and your soaps :). I am not allowed any treats at the moment (self-inflicted I'm afraid, until I start contributing again), but a swap isn't exactly spending :D What do you think?
Ton coussin est beau! et j'aime beaucoup le rapprochement que tu fais avec ton père!
Swaps and swamps rule, yet I too have to wait until next month... or two!
I'm going to convo you when all is in order... ;)
Btw: what's your favorite wood? I prefer curly birch... especially when its all lacquered up and shiny!
Merci Artycho!
Michaela - oops, yes 'swap' not 'swamp'! No worries, they can wait, might have some new ones by then too.
Didn't know about curly birch so looked it up... Nice, has a wavy effect, doesn't it? My favourite is oak, especially left untreated - not keen on dark oak effect.
Really sweet design and love the story behind it about your Dad :)

P.S. I'm saving my '7 things' for later in the week!
I took a textile design course a year or so ago where they introduced patchwork quilting and I was obsessed with making these hexagons for awhile. I love the fabrics you chose.
