A friend came to visit my sis and showed us how to make fabby paper snowflakes.
They're really easy to make, all you need is a pair of scissors, some tape, a stapler and some nice paper (could be anything, old book pages, maps, wallpaper, magazines... whatever, as long as it's not too lightweight).

Here we go, I hope this will be clear enough, it's too dark for me to take photos...

What d'ya reckon??
I think I'll have quite a few of these in clusters around the house this Christmas.
I'll be making some of various size (although small ones are really fiddly unless you have a teeny stapler), and with different type of paper.
It's taken me a while to get in the Christmas mood, but making these is doing it nicely for me! Oh... and making some pressies too, but I can't tell you anymore about that because of little prying eye ;)

Thanks my lovelies, you're welcome! :)
Emma, No snow where we are :(( I haven't been back on the moors since the weekend, but there must still be some there.
Lucky Spanner!! My man's up your way, in Glasgow. He's been playing in the snow (well at the airport anyway). He gets just as excited about it as me and Jack ;)

I just hopped over from Heather's and I LOVE this idea - THANK YOU for posting :D I am off to dig out some cute Christmas paper!
Annabelle, we have even more this morning!!! Another few inches of real fluffy lovelines... :)
I do hope your makes it home safely, I know Edinburgh airport has been closed quite a bit... not sure about Glasgow though? At least he's having fun in the snow... :)
Hugs,

Emma, Booo... we have none... I'm going to have to move up to Scotland!
He did, no worries! Glasgow stayed opened just a bit delayed. He comes up to Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports quite a lot so it was lucky, I think Glasgow is the only one open.
Hope you're not getting too snowed in! You could build a little snow hole for Spanner :))
xx
I've been looking for this all day by google. Just when I quited looking for it, I found it on your blog. Thanks.

Wow!
I must pass this on to my sister 'cause she's the one crazy about snowflakes :-)
We are enjoying making the snowflakes - thanks for the tutorial!
I love your snowflakes...
A great fun thing to do on the weekend with the kids...
Thanks my lovelies! Glad you like them!

I love these! I must try making them!
This is fab! So pleased to have found your blog!
so fantastic! I hung one in my living room window. Thanks for sharing!
This is funny, I found the same star in a Scandinavian christmas magazine this weekend and made some myself as well! I used 5 instead of 6, makes it a little easier to attach them. And double sided tape works perfectly to attach the sides. To get the middle part together I used needle and thread...
Another difference is this: the pattern in the magazine shows you to fold the traingle twice, so you have to cut only once towards the middle. you might like that?
I will post my stars in a few days... Thank you for showing this, you have used beautiful paper!
Love, Maaike
Thanks Maaike for adding to this!
5 instead of 6 sounds good, I like odd numbers :) Indeed double sticky tape would be good, more discreet too.
I have been doing the fold twice thing, it saves going too far/not far enough.
Thanks my dear, I look forward to seeing yours!
